Why You’ll Love This Frozen Strawberry Aperol Spritz Recipe

This frozen strawberry spritz is part TWO in my Summer of Spritz series, where I get you ready for a steamy summer by arming you with the most refreshing spritzers! The lambrusco spritz could do the job all on its own, but why stop there when there are so many other kinds of spritz recipes to try?!

Today’s frozen strawberry drink is made with simple, fresh ingredients for those warm summer afternoons when you need to cool down. The frozen strawberries and peaches add so much juicy flavor to this drink, and the aperol and orange juice give it a burst of bright citrus!

Make a big ‘ol batch of this spritz in the blender and get ready to keep it flowing all afternoon long!

More Spritz Recipes to Blend

I think this spritz lends itself perfectly to a slushy frozen vibe because of the fruit, but theoretically, any spritz can be served frozen! Just add ice and keep it in the freezer until you’re ready to serve. Here are a few more of my favorite summer spritzers.

Serving Suggestions

An Aperol spritz is traditionally served as an aperitif with small plates before the main meal begins, so here are some delicious snacks that’ll pair well with your frozen strawberry spritz!

What is the best prosecco for Aperol spritz?

You can use your favorite prosecco for your spritz, but I pretty dry (brut) prosecco in this recipe because it balances out the sweetness of all the fruit. Give it a try and let me know what you think!

Does Aperol freeze?

Aperol doesn’t freeze completely because alcohol doesn’t freeze! However, it will get super cold and a little slushy. You can make it even icier by mixing it with your orange juice and freeze it in ice cube containers before blending. The orange juice will help it freeze.

Is Aperol Spritz a strong cocktail?

Yes and no! Aperol itself is 11% alcohol so it’s not super strong, but when you add addition liquor and prosecco the alcohol content jumps and you can find yourself with a mighty strong cocktail!
