Description

This Frozen Strawberry Margarita recipe is SO addicting, each sip is incredibly smooth and filled with bright strawberry flavor with the most subtle hint of tequila. They truly taste like an adult summer slushy and they’re made with only four simple ingredients (you won’t find a can of limeade here!) and under 200 calories a serving!

Ingredients

Scale

16 oz / 1 lb bag frozen strawberries

4 limes, juiced (4 ounces lime juice), plus lime wheels for garnish

8 ounces tequila

4 ounces Grand Marnier, Cointreau or triple sec (orange liquor)

2 ounces agave or simple syrup, optional

2 cups ice

coarse salt, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Blend: In a high-speed blender, add frozen strawberries, fresh lime juice, tequila, Cointreau, agave and ice. Blend on high until smooth and creamy, about 30 seconds.
  2. Enjoy: Serve in a large margarita glass with a salted rim and lime wheel to garnish.

Notes

Simple Syrup: To make your own simple syrup, boil down 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water in a small saucepan over low heat, until clear and sugar is dissolved. Cool slightly.

Sweetener is optional: You don’t have to include a sweetener. Taste test the margarita after mixing to see if you would like it sweeter before adding simple syrup or agave.

Make-Ahead: Blend the strawberry margarita mix one day in advance and stash it in a freezer-safe container in the freezer. Just give it a quick blitz in your Vitamix or blender just before serving.
