Why You’ll Love This Martini Spritz Recipe

It’s bubbly and refreshing! Like any good Summer of Spritz recipe, this drink calls for prosecco and soda water which both offer light and bubbly vibes. These two ingredients perfectly offset the strength of the alcohol and make this drink oh-so-sippable while lounging in the sun.

The olive oil! Not only does the olive oil add a light grassy herbal flavor, but it also subtly alters the texture of the drink. Oil and water don’t mix, but oil and alcohol sure do! The combination results in a smooth silky texture that’ll keep you coming back for refills.

It’s a martini AND a spritz! It’s well known that I’m a martini girl – I even did a DIY martini-themed bathroom makeover! I absolutely love that this cocktail gives me the best of both worlds so I can enjoy a sharp boozy martini with the light and refreshing qualities of a spritz.

FAQs

Can I make a martini spritz with vodka?

You sure can! Just swap the gin for your favorite vodka – I suggest something higher quality. If you want more flavor, you could also use a lemon-flavored vodka!

What is a spritz cocktail?

A spritz is an Italian cocktail made of prosecco, sparkling water, and an aperitif! It began when people started watering down their alcoholic beverages with a “spritzen” (German) of water, and then the Italians added a bitter aperitif to it which eventually became the Aperol spritz we know today. Nowadays there are so many different flavor variations so everyone has something to love!
