Description

This incredibly easy old fashioned peach cobbler recipe is the perfect after-dinner summer dessert. Fresh peaches baked with cinnamon and sugar and topped with a cobbler topping that tastes like a half baked snickerdoodle.

Ingredients

Scale

For peaches:

68 fresh yellow peaches, sliced

1/3 cup sugar

1 tbsp cinnamon

¼ cup butter, diced

For cobbler topping:

½ cup butter, melted

¾ cup sugar

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

1 tbsp cinnamon

¼ tsp salt

Vanilla Ice Cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 F
  2. Add peaches, sugar, and cinnamon to a large casserole or baking dish. Dollop peaches evenly with butter cubes.
  3. In a separate bowl mix, melted butter, sugar, all-purpose flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt together until a cookie batter type dough starts to form.
  4. Clump together the batter and spread evenly over the top of the cobbler.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the sides are bubbly and the top is golden brown.
  6. Allow cobbler to cool for 15-20 minutes to set and serve with vanilla ice cream or whip cream.

Notes

Ripe Peaches: If your peaches are very ripe and juicy, you may not need the extra butter dolloped on top. This helps create more juices if your peaches aren’t all the way ripe.
